Drilling equipment valves play an indispensable role in high-pressure drilling operations.
First, it can accurately control pressure. During high-pressure drilling, even small fluctuations in pressure can cause serious problems. The valve can accurately adjust the flow and pressure of the drilling fluid according to the downhole conditions to prevent excessive pressure from causing well wall rupture or too low pressure from affecting drilling efficiency.
Second, it ensures the flow direction of the drilling fluid. Through the reasonable opening and closing of the valve, the drilling fluid can be guided to flow along the predetermined path to ensure that it reaches the drill bit smoothly, cools and lubricates the drill bit, and carries the drill cuttings to the ground to maintain the normal circulation of the drilling operation.
Third, it has a safety protection function. When abnormally high pressure or other dangerous conditions occur underground, the valve can be quickly closed to prevent the uncontrolled flow of drilling fluid and formation fluid, prevent catastrophic accidents such as blowouts, and protect the safety of personnel and equipment.
Fourth, it helps to optimize the drilling process. Different drilling stages require different drilling fluid parameters. The valve can be flexibly adjusted to adapt to various complex geological conditions and drilling process requirements, and improve the quality and efficiency of drilling.
